Kempton Philbrook joined Howtek where his aim was producing the world's first totally injection molded nozzle for Drop On Demand ink jet printing. Mr. Philbrook was also project manager for producing their ink pellets. The basic formula for this "ink" eventually became the basis for the "build" materials used in the Sanders Design and Solidscape (formerly Sanders Prototype) 3D printers.
He now offers his own safe and unique formulas through Rapid-Cast.
Kempton Philbrook, co-founder of Sanders Prototype, Inc (later renamed Solidscape, Inc.) worked as the Print Head Designer and Engineer and was one of the original holders for their base technology patents. Employed at Sanders Design from 1991 to 2004 when SDI formed SPI (Sanders Prototype Incorporated). Sanders Prototype Incorporated moved to Merrimack, NH and eventually changed their name to Solidscape, Inc.

Once this training is completed Print-Heads will be available for purchase directly through Rapid-Cast.
Rapid-Cast owes its product line (including Easy-Materials, heated lines and print heads) to the innovations of Kempton Philbrook, who has dedicated 20 years of experience in this field. He has provided quality Print Heads to the global market of Sanders Prototype, Sanders Design and Solidscape machine users, and he is now offering the same quality of products for purchase through Rapid-Cast’s extensive Global Distribution Network. Mr. Philbrook’s efforts have earned him recognition by having been awarded three patents (two U.S. and one European) in the field of Rapid Prototyping. These contributions and patents have been crucial in the viability and formation of two companies involved in this field, Sanders Design International and Sanders Prototype Inc (now Solidscape Incorporated).
